Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Laborer to work at our Castle Rock, CO location . The laborer operates a jackhammer, shovel asphalt and performs laborer duties behind an asphalt paver. Our Laborer position offers the opportunity to explore many career paths from power washer, lube tech, heavy equipment operator, all the way up to supervision. Many of our Supervisors and Managers started as laborers.

Pay: $20-23 Shift/Schedule: 7am-5pm Nights and Weekends

Prep grade for paving crew (i.e., run jack hammer, clean pavement, or check grade) Shovel asphalt for patching and or paving crew Communicate with office and field personnel Inspect grade and elevations correctly Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Skills The ideal candidate will have:

Basic Mechanical aptitude Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and ability to push, pull, and/or pry Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time and work in an environment with noise and temperature variations Work outside for an extended period of time and ability to work at elevated heights Ability to read, write and speak English Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle Good visual acuity, depth perception and eye-hand coordination Able to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness
