About Hill's Pet Nutrition:

At Hill's Pet Nutrition, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of pets and their owners through superior nutrition. Our state-of-the-art facility in Castiglione delle Stiviere is expanding, and we are looking for a talented Production Planner to join our dynamic team.

Job Purpose:

The Production Planner at Hill's Pet Nutrition plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely production of our premium pet food products. This position involves developing and maintaining weekly production schedules, coordinating with various departments to ensure the availability of materials and resources, and monitoring production progress to address any issues or delays.

The Production Planner will analyze production data, collaborate with sales and customer service teams to align production plans with demand forecasts, and participate in continuos improvement initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet production goals while adhering to safety and quality standards.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain weekly production schedules to ensure optimal useof resources and timely delivery of products.

  • Coordinate with procurement, material planning, and production teams to ensure the availability of necessary materials andresources for production .

  • Trackand monitor production activities to ensure adherence to schedules, and promptly address any delays or issues that arise.

  • Collaboratewith sales and customer service teams to understand demand forecasts and adjust production plans accordingly.

  • Analyzeproduction data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

  • Prepareand present regular production reports to management, highlighting key metrics,potential risks, and areas for improvement.

  • Ensureall production activities comply with Hill's Pet Nutrition's quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Participatein and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency,reduce waste, and improve overall effectiveness.

  • Mantainaccurate records of inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to manage stock levels effectively.

  • Identifyand implement cost-saving opportunities in the production process without compromising product quality.

  • Ensurecompliance with safety and environmental regulations throughout the production process.

  • Workclosely with various departments, including procurement, sales and CS&L teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations.

  • Utilizeproduction planning software (Kinaxis rapid response, SAP R/3, S4 Hana, PlanetTogether) to manage and optimize production schedules.

  • Mantain effective communicationwith internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on production goals and timelines. Participate and contribute to the weekly production planning meeting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business, Finance or related field

  • 4-7 years of functional supply chain experience

  • Supervisory or project management experience

  • Experience with SAP S4, Kinaxis (RapidResponse), Google workspace (sheets, docs, gmail)

  • Proficiencies in advanced analytics and apply Supply Chain optimization tools / methodologies to determine process and cost improvements

  • Proficient in English language.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Lean six sigma

  • Broad business knowledge and strong understanding of Supply Chain systems

  • Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written communication abilities
