Waste Connections Laborer in Castaic, California

Chiquita Canyon Landfill , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Castaic, CA !

The schedule is subject to change but will be Monday-Saturday 7am-3:30pm with possible overtime each day.

Starting pay is $19.50/hour. Overtime pay rate is 1.5x the hourly rate.

The pay range for this job category is $19.50 - $21.63/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Picking litter

  • Updating tags for inspections – eye wash machine, fire extinguisher etc

  • Ensuring that everyone in the area is wearing proper PPE

  • Cleaning equipment as needed

  • General site cleanup as needed

  • Transporting tools and equipment to different areas of the landfill

  • Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of work experience. Preferably in a labor type position

  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift

  • Mechanical ability is a plus.
