We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for Machine Operators within our Manufacturing team to help support our business. Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry? Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

So, what will you be doing as a Machine Operator?

  • The job is a standing/sitting job requiring the operation of a molding machine. The machine processes molding of formed wire to form seating components.

  • The operator is responsible for producing quality product and must be able to identify such. If necessary, the operator must be able to notify appropriate person to fix machine.

  • Performs any other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed.

  • Trouble shoot molding problems.

  • Start molding machines; Set molds in machines; Properly hangs molds; Properly water molds

  • Change nozzles, nozzle tips, nozzle bands and barrel bands

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.

  • Ability to understand instruction both verbal and written. This includes the ability with proper training to follow construction blueprints and document ongoing processes.

  • Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.

  • Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds and ability to roll drums weighing 500 pounds.

  • Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.

  • The willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts of which are included TS-16949, Kaizen, and SMED.

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and use

  • Working schedule: Monday to Thursday from 4:45 pm to 3:15 am

  • Shift differential of $2.00 per hour
