General Description

The Human Resources Assistant handles a variety of administrative and personnel related duties including, but not limited to, providing administrative support directly to the Human Resources Department.

duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with overall organization of the HR department.
  • Serve as receptionist for the HR department - phones and walk-ins.
  • Responsible for pre-hire paperwork for incoming new hires.
  • Responsible for file maintenance, paper and electronic.
  • Responsible for Internal Job Postings (prep and post).
  • Reconcile department credit card.
  • Responsible for bulletin boards - compliance and audits.
  • Responsible for company phone list with timely distribution.
  • Assists with all HR events when necessary.
  • Serve as employee goodwill contact (flowers for life events, birthday cards, etc.)
  • Assist with charitable events that involve employees.
  • Maintain schedule and manage access for West Wing Training Room.
  • Assist with writing job descriptions.
  • Maintain HR supply closet.
  • Maintain employee business card orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

skills, competencies, education, certification, and/or licensure requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years administrative support.
  • Knowledge of benefits and general HR practices preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, vocabulary, spelling.
  • Must exhibit organized, accurate, and thorough work habits.
  • Must be reliable, able to follow instructions, respond to directives, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
