Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor leads and optimizes manufacturing processes for assigned areas to achieve Operational Excellence and Profitable Growth. Coordinates the execution of production and manufacturing schedules to meet customer demand, DCO quality requirements and establish business objectives for the assigned process areas. The individual is a part of the Carson Operations Team and is responsible for aligning Production personnel to achieving Site goals. Position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Our Performance Center in Carson, CA is the Engineered Products Group site for our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, and Radio Frequency (RF) product lines.

Job Summary

  • Ensure that assigned employees are properly trained / cross-trained and are performing in accordance with expected productivity measures.

  • Deliver quality products to meet customer demand, contractual requirements and business objectives.

  • Drive to a Master Production Schedule (MPS) as created by the assigned Planner.

  • Effectively utilize and execute continuous improvement activities to reduce cost, improve competiveness relative to hours-per-unit, cycle times and required quality in a visual factory.

  • Control and improve operational costs, both direct and indirect for assigned areas.

  • Ensure time and attendance are updated and maintained “real-time” for all assigned personnel using VISUAL and KRONOS.

  • Coordinate with EH&S to foster workplace safety and enforcement of safety policies and training.

  • Team with Production Control for the maintenance of inventory levels to optimize operating income and drive a competitive position for future business.

  • Directs the day-to-day priorities of Production personnel and is a point of contact for inter-department support such as Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Conducts performance evaluations annually and as needed for all direct reports.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and best-practices.

  • Ability to lead a group of people in a constructive, productive, and fair manner.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to drive relentless root cause analyses.

  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.

    Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibilities including supervision and management experience.

Base Compensation: USD 70,000.00 - 80,000.00 Paid Salaried
