Trans Ash Professional Land Surveyor (Plant Wansley) in Carrollton, Georgia

Founded in 1960, Trans Ash is a rapidly growing civil land construction & environmental company. We are expanding our survey services and are seeking to add a Professional Land Surveyor to our surveying team to work on a long-term civil land construction project with our valued customer in the utility industry. This position will be based out of Plant Wansley in Carrolton, GA.

Pay Information:

$120,000 - $150,000 / year

Quarterly Bonus Program

    Job Description:

    The Professional Land Surveyor is responsible for all aspects of executing the surveying needs of the site per the contract drawings and specifications. Work will include, but is not limited to; civil 3D surface building and design, civil 3D quality tracking, machine control, baseline surveys, construction layout, as-built surveys, aerial (drone) surveying, and hydro surveying. The surveyor is an integral part of the project team, reports to the Survey Division Manager, and communicates directly with the customer.

    Essential Functions:

  • Well-versed in civil 3D experience- surfacing modeling.

  • Performs work both in the field and in an office environment

  • Performs construction staking and topographic surveys

  • Creates as-built drawings from survey data, ensuring conformance to project specifications and tolerances

  • Maintain survey records, GPS, and CAD files

  • Provides monthly quantities via drone and survey data

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents

  • Accommodate client and job site needs by responding to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner

    Job Requirements and Qualifications

    Education:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a 2 or 4-year degree in surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field

  • 5 years of experience in the field management of construction surveying projects is preferred

    Training Requirements:

  • Professional Land Surveyor License in Georgia is required, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of being hired.

  • Proficient with business software: Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Experience using Trimble GPS equipment and Trimble machine control is preferred

  • Proficency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required

  • Experience with Trimble Business Center is preferred

  • Experience with Hypack dredge/surveying software is preferred

  • Remote Pilot's License/Certification required, or ability to obtain within one (1) month of being hired

    Other Information:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work in all types of weather, walk for extended periods of time

  • Must be physically able to perform the work outside.

  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.

  • Must be able to work in a construction environment.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
