About the Role

This position reports directly to the Molding Department Process Engineering Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties at Decostar as described below:

Your Responsibilities

• To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

• Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal, external customers and suppliers.

Who we are looking for

• To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.

• Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.

• Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.

• Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.

• Complete all required safety-related inspections.

• Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.

• Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely

• Provide continuous and uninterrupted material supply to all 11 IMM’s.

• Monitor dew point levels of hydroscopic materials in material dryers and document findings.

• Perform PM’s on dryers and material systems, including filter changes, hose inspections, hose replacement etc.

• Maintain material storage area. Make sure all boxes of material are labeled properly and stored in the designated location.

• Maintain 5S in the material storage, material blending and mixing area including the regrinding station.

• Support mold changes and machine changeovers.

• Monitor mold changes to minimize material flushing.

• Assist with break and lunch relief when needed.

• Monitor the unloading of bulk material trucks into silos as required.

• Deliver material samples from bulk trucks to the lab for testing as required.

• Make sure all paperwork and documentation on the material being received is turned into the proper personnel as required.

• Conduct audits in molding areas, in accordance with ISO/TS 16949 Quality Systems, 5S, and Layered audits, reporting findings as required.

• Perform other duties as required

Your preferred qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in a technical field of study preferred. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

• Minimum two years experience with O.E.M. requirements preferred.

• Course work relating to injection molding an asset.

• Auditing experience to QS-9000/ISO-TS 16949 preferred.

• Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Manufacturing experience with an understanding of processing equipment, product realization and quality standards. Follow work guidance to operate lab equipment and perform operations involving various tools. Safe handling of raw materials, knowledge automotive specifications and associated instruments
