Job Description

Southwire seeks enthusiastic and committed individuals who are interested in learning the technical skills necessary to successfully work in a manufacturing environment.

The Maintenance Apprenticeship Program provides a pathway for individuals to learn and master manufacturing maintenance skills while earning a salary in a career that can lead to opportunities and advancement within the manufacturing industry.

As a student and apprentice, you will rotate between attending classes and working at Southwire. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program, you will be equipped with both hands-on and institutional knowledge of industrial maintenance and will be prepared be to assume a role as Maintenance Technician at Southwire.

Shift: Various Shifts (20 Hrs Work at Plant Locations & 20 hours in Classroom Training).

Southwire Maintenance Apprenticeship Program includes the following commitments from you:

  • The Maintenance Apprenticeship Program requires a 2-year commitment to work and school.

  • The ability to apply for technical school financial aid for applicable grants, scholarships prior to acceptance into the program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent recognized by local school authorities.

  • Copy of college/technical school transcripts or DD-214 (if applicable)

  • Physically able to perform work (stand, lift, bend).

  • The ability to get to and from work and school.

  • Willing to submit to and pass a drug test and physical upon acceptance.
