       Description: Teacher - Physical Education at Carroll Community SchoolJob Summary: To provide a wide range of physical activities that offer something for all children in which they can safely explore and experiment to develop fitness and skill competencies.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.

  • Maintain professional competence through in-service provided by the district, and in self-selected professional growth activities.

  • Work cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning a balanced physical education program.

  • Provide appropriate safety instruction and make safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.

  • Maintain control of storage and use of school-owned property.

  • Evaluate each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution in team sports.

  • Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.

  • Cooperate with school administration in providing special performing groups for special occasions.

  • Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.

  • Select, store, order, issue, and inventory equipment, materials, and supplies used in physical education program.

  • Other duties as assigned by Administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary will be in accordance with provisions of the Negotiated Agreement. Work year will be established by the Board with respect to job duties.
