       Description: Severe/Profound Teacher Associate at Carroll High SchoolJob Summary: 7 Hr/Day 5 Days/Week1. Employee shall always be under the direction and supervision of a professional instructional staff person. 2. Works with students in asupportive roleunder conditions determined by the instructional professional staff responsible for the students, but not as a substitute for or replacement of functions and duties of a teacher as established in the Code. 3. Assists students as needed, including but not limited to: lifting and carrying of students including on and off the bus; diapering; toilet training and assisting in the bathroom; feeding; and providing academic assistance. 4. Assists in emergency situations (will require lifting and carrying of students). 5. Assists in supervision of students in and out of the classroom, including playground. 6. Modifies materials under the teacher’s direction. 7. Participates in and implements professional development and training provided for individual student’s needs. 8. Enables and encourages students’ independence. 9. Learns to effectively operate communication devices and other assistive technology required by students. 10. Assists with implementing students’ Individualized Education Plans and Behavior Intervention plans with fidelity. 11. Assists with implementing students’ Individualized Health Care Plans, emergency plans and/or evacuation plans. 12. Demonstrates professionalism and maintain confidentiality. 13.
