GE Vernova Aero Alliance Senior Engineering Manager – Avenza Gate 0 leader in Carrara, Italy

Job Description Summary

The Gate 0 leader, reporting to Europe Aero Shops Leader, will lead the Powerplant Engineering team responsible for all the technical activities of Avenza LM Service Shop, linked to overhaul of LM25000 (derived from CF6-6) and LM6000 (derived from CF6-80), and will support new products/processes introduction.

The role is intended to be performed on-site.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and inspire a team of engineers, managing their skills growth within Technical Career Path.

  • Aero-derivative gas turbines (LM2500, LM6000) work scope definition as per GE Aviation manuals and applicable contractual agreements.

  • Jobs assignation to team members, balancing team workload and technical skill matrix.

  • Support Channels’ Application Engineering for non-standard bids

  • Participation in Shop Operative Rhythm (Weekly Induction Reviews, Engine Reviews) to adjust team priorities according to Production needs.

  • Be a technical reference point for Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis on Shop processes (Safety, Quality, Lean Production)

  • Review of Technical documents (Kick-offs, Visual Inspection Report, Final Report) to ensure they meet Customer expectations and adhere to Company Workscope Policy

  • Technical interface of Avenza shop towards Design Engineering (GE Aerospace) and other functions (Product Leadership, Productivity, Industrialization).

  • Ensure a smooth introduction of new products/processes within Shop Operations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering

  • Strong and Proven experience with Aero Engines Overhaul/Engineering

  • Previous experience as manager/team leader

  • Ability to work in a very dynamic environment

  • Italian & English fluency
