Injection Mold Maker Apprentice

OTTO designed, manufactured and precision tested, right here in the USA.

OTTOs opportunity:

Our Injection Mold Maker Apprentice will learn aspects of mold making. This includes, but not limited to, mold design, mold fabrication techniques, set-up & tear down, troubleshooting, maintenance and basic machine set-up. The Apprenticeship Program consists of a three-year classroom (during the evening) and hands-on work (during the day) experience. The course work will be taught by faculty through the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) and the hands-on work experience will be completed at the OTTO Tech Center.

Specifically, the Injection Mold Maker Apprentice will:

Learn basic Injection Molding

Perform Mold changeovers

Perform Mold & Machine maintenance

Component measurements

Mold construction

Assembly & disassembly of molds

Bead Blasting & Surface grinding

Perform basic use of EDM machine

Perform basic Milling & Surface grinding

Perform other duties as assigned or given

Diagnose component / mold problems
