Eaton’s IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking an Engineering Co-Op.

The hourly rate for this position is 20.31 - 25.96 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

Eaton’s Power Connection business has a cooperative employment opportunity for students pursuing a degree in engineering.

The objective of this program is to develop your technical skills in engineering through a practical experience, and assist in your personal development of leadership competencies through training, networking and coaching.  During the program you will provide engineering services to support the operations of our dynamic and exciting Eaton Power Connections business through an assignment in one of the following departments, based upon your interest and business need: Test Engineering, Product Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

In this co-op program your assignment may include:

  • Supporting Product Engineers in development of new product designs

  • Performing failure root cause analysis and problem solving within a team to identify and isolate product issues and recommend solutions

  • Developing detailed engineering materials including technical reports to provide product documentation

  • Communicating plans, status, and results to senior engineers and leadership

  • Collaborating with suppliers, internal laboratories and test facilities to ensure the successful completion of product development and validation testing

  • Working in a team environment to identify process improvements, product cost reductions, and reliability improvements

  • Collecting and analyze manufacturing data and implement process improvements that advance safety, product quality, and operating efficiencies

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in engineering at an accredited institution

• Must have a combined GPA of 2.5 or higher (please do not round)

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship on a continual permanent basis.

• Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Carol Stream, IL

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

• Experience in automotive industry

Position Criteria:

• Actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Engineering knowledge and experience in product development from concept to product launch and product post launch engineering maintenance

• Demonstrated problem solving and failure analysis skills

• GD&T knowledge

• Knowledge of typical C.A.E. software (Creo/Solidworks, MATLAB, MASTA/Romax, etc.)

• Self-motivated and possessing a drive for results

• Willing and able to work 2-4 years in the co-op program
