Description

We have a new full-time opening for a Quality Management Coordinator will assist the Quality Management Department in fulfilling its responsibility to all Individuals supported at The Arc Mid-Hudson by investigating allegations of Abuse/Neglect, Significant Incidents and Serious and Minor Notable Occurrences, located in Carmel. There may be times where this position may have to travel to our Kingston office.

The position will be required to conduct thorough, impartial investigations and to be knowledgeable in the regulations governing incident management. The Coordinator will take initiative on projects and demonstrate excellence in teamwork, ensuring accuracy of work, maintaining confidentiality and setting the example of communicating respectfully and thoughtfully to peers, people served, and external entities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledgeable in the regulations governing incident management (Part 624 and 625) and be a resource to agency staff.

  • Perform impartial investigations, on and off site, of designated incidents (Abuse/Neglect, Significant Incidents, Serious and Minor Notables) and sensitive situations.

  • Knowledgeable in conducting investigations and proficient in interviewing potential witnesses, victims, etc.

  • Ability to write a detailed investigative reports and to be able to effectively communicate and present findings to the Incident Review committee.

  • Become proficient with the Incident Report and Management Application (IRMA) System.

  • Become proficient in the Web Submission of Investigation Reports (WSIR) Data Entry System.

  • Assist the NYS Justice Center (JC) with investigations and collaborate with NYS JC Investigators.

  • Attend Incident Review Committee (IRC) meetings and assist in committee deliberations.

  • Assist with The Arc Mid-Hudson Quality Review and Improvement processes.

  • Participate in the agency's Human Rights Committee processes.

  • Participate in the agency’s Guardianship Program.

  • Provide specialized trainings to agency Staff in areas related to Quality Management (QM) and Incident Reporting.

  • On-Call responsibilities on a rotating basis.

HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 1 year experience in the OPWDD or related field.

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and flexible.

  • Independent, strong self -starter able to quickly gain confidence and coordinate projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have acceptable driver’s license which meets acceptable standards of the agency’s automobile insurance company.
