MISO Energy Shift Manager - Operator In Reserve in Carmel, Indiana
Description
As our Shift Manager , you will help MISO System Operations maintain overall Bulk Electric System reliability while ensuring the most cost-effective market solutions, by providing leadership in Real Time and taking part in shaping the culture, environment, tools and processes that make Real Time operations successful. You will lead the real-time operations environment for MISO while on shift, across three regions and four control centers, while collaborating with multiple internal and external entities.
As the Shift Manager, you will lead a team with a very broad width of knowledge and experience, truly global in scope.
You will also have the opportunity while off shift, to coordinate and collaborate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in global operations with internal MISO teams as well as external entities on various projects, processes and initiatives--all to aid in providing reliable and efficient Grid operations.
In one year as our Shift Manager, you will know you were successful if you have completed or are on track to complete Shift Manager certification. You should be able to show that you are gaining knowledge and experience across multiple business areas that impact the control room environment.
We are looking for talented professionals who have:
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field AND a minimum four + years of related industry experience. Educational equivalency may be established with a combination of education, training, certifications and directly related experience.
NERC RC Certification and Shift Manager Certification OR be able to obtain certifications within two years of employment
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
Eight + years of relevant experience
Experience on multiple MISO operating desks
Experience with transmission operations, generation operations, Tariff administration, scheduling, and market operation functions
Supervisory experience
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
