Constructors, Inc. is a third generation progressive construction company founded in 1958. Specializing in General, Asphalt, Concrete, Dirt, and Utility Construction.

Constructors Inc. is seeking a Paving Superintendent with experience managing paving jobs. As a successful candidate, you will be required to have experience running a hot mix paving crew to meet paving schedules. Must have experience in Supervising employees effectively and efficiently and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Paving Superintendent will report directly to the Area Construction Manager.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform all duties as required.

  • Monitor the schedule by regularly reviewing milestones and providing consistent solutions to a wide variety of challenges and multiple simultaneous projects. Communicate and collaborate with management for schedule changes.

  • Provide oversight to the work planning process including upcoming machinery needs, personnel requirements, and work in progress updates.

  • Review work schedules, provide solutions for potential time delays, and implement strategies to meet milestones on time.

  • Manage, motivate and evaluate staff to ensure maximum safety, effectiveness, quality work, professional, and positive development.

  • Communicate company rules and policies to the crews.

  • Plan, manage and coordinate accurate and quality completion of all projects.

  • Work with management, estimating teams and foreman to ensure effective production rates. Adherence to project schedules and labor budgets, quality control and equipment and material resource availability/utilization.

  • Develop and communicate production goals and specifications to your team to maximize worker effectiveness, adherence to schedule and maintenance of profitability goals.

  • Evaluate, manage equipment and materials for paving projects.

  • Provide oversight regarding manpower and equipment scheduling, dispatch, and equipment transportation.

  • Lead by example and promote our high standards and reputation for excellence.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and analyzing construction plans and specifications; scheduling, cost, and quality control practices.

  • Strong written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated team player and excellent problem solver

  • Ability to thrive and multi-task in fast-paced, changing environment with a "can-do" attitude.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer skills required.

  • Valid Drivers License

  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required.

    Job Skills:

  • Ability to manage field work within construction budget, and understand the scope of work as defined by the plan.

  • Ability to record and track the Projects expected production rates, and productivity for each activity; track the amount of hot mix.

  • Ability to read, and interpret construction drawing and specifications.

  • Ability to respond well in challenging and demanding situations.

  • Familiar with a variety of the field concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

    Fingering: Frequently. Requires the ability to work on a keyboard or calculator and write on documents.

    Near Acuity: Continuously. Requires clarity of vision twenty inches or less to monitor terminal screen and review documents.
