L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Carlsbad, CA facility.

Position Overview:

As a Systems Engineer you’ll be asked to contribute to program responsibilities including proposal efforts, requirements definition, conceptual design, tradeoffs, detailed design and drawings, prototype build, and integration and test. Documentation efforts of the team will also include Solidworks Electrical Schematic Drafting, DxDesigner PWA Schematic Drafting, Wirelist Creation, Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) Creation, Agile (CMDB) Submissions, and Peer Reviews of EE and ME documentation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Translate end-user/customer needs into end-to-end systems requirements

  • Understand details of underlying technology and product capabilities

  • Develop system use cases and drive system architecture

  • Generate verifiable product level requirements from high level system requirements

  • Establish relationships and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to align end-to-end system requirements with product roadmaps

  • Support and drive development and service delivery

  • Own the creation and management of systems engineering activities

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Test Equipment including but not limited to O-Scopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Signal Generators

  • Ability to derive and decompose requirements to multiple sub-systems

  • Ability to conceptualize, design, implement, and test complex RF, electrical & mechanical systems

  • Experience in system test and production test

  • Experience with RF Chain Analysis

  • Experience with MBSE

  • Experience designing Test Fixture and Interface Test Adapter (ITA) designs that meet performance, cost, and manufacturability goals

  • Experience with Agile (Configuration Management Database), SharePoint, Solidworks 3D, DxDesigner, JIRA, JAMA Software or DOORS Software

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $100,000 - $186,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
