Job Description

This is a newly-created position within the SDG Finance Transformation Team supporting our Specialty Diagnostics Group (SDG). This role will closely partner with business leaders across multiple Finance functions to deliver technology-based data solutions aimed at driving strategic business value through our Thermo Fisher Financial Systems landscape.

This role's primary mission is to operationalize key Thermo Fisher Scientific financial systems such as SPoT (Single Point of Truth), General Ledger Analytics (GLA), and Oracle EPBCS. The key focus areas of this role are system tie-outs, reporting preparedness, and supporting change management for new finance users. This position is the primary advocate for finance digitization efforts ensuring adoption of the tools and technology that will be at the forefront of evolving the transformation in finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure financial data flows from ERP to end reporting systems (HFM, PLN, SPoT, eDSR) with correct dimension mapping.

  • Analyze data to figure out root cause of issues (e.g. systems logic, business process issues, data quality, etc.) and communicate findings to the business and IT for resolution planning.

  • Contribute to the successful implementation of transformation roadmap and GLA adoption.

  • Maintain site relationship with global teams on system launch, hyper-care and communicating results with implementation team to resolve defects and enhancements for the intake process.

  • Promote SPoT/Power BI as the de facto standard for reporting across the group and support user adoption.

  • Provide first line support to the super user community and bring up issues when required.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners across accounting, finance, IT and to recommend business process and technical systems solution options including RPA opportunities.

  • Create and document communication, change impact and training modules for finance and Accounting users.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in various functions including Accounting, Finance, Shared Services and Information Systems, or closely related experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline

  • Master’s in Business or Information systems preferred.

  • Experience with reporting tools (i.e. Cognos, Business Objects, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.)

  • Knowledge/Experience of: HFM, FDM, CMR/Essbase, Hyperion Planning (PLN), EDMCS.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) required.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate with internal customers and all levels of management in a non-technical manner.

  • Demonstrable ability to build strong working partnership with the Controllership, Finance & IT team.

  • Knowledge/Experience of Jira, Agile. PPI, JDI, ERP implementation, Finance project implementation.

  • Ability to work with matrix teams to design, build, test & implement finance integrations.

  • Ability to organize, share information efficiently, gain consensus and set expectations.

  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities, taking ownership and follow up on issues.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$160,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
