Tutor Doctor 6th Grade Math and Language Arts in Carlsbad, California

Job Summary: As a 6th Grade Math and Language Arts Tutor with Tutor Doctor - North County San Diego, you will provide individualized tutoring services to students in the Carlsbad, California area. In this part-time, hourly position, you will work one-on-one with students in their homes to improve their understanding and performance in math and language arts. This is an individual contributor role, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic growth and success of your students. Compensation & Benefits: This position offers a competitive hourly compensation rate of $23 to $30 per hour, paid biweekly. As a Tutor Doctor employee, you may also be eligible for benefits such as access to resources and training materials, professional development opportunities, and a supportive and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities: - Assess needs of the student by reviewing their homework, tests and quizzes. - Work with the student and their planner to teach executive management skills, time management and study skills.  - Plan and implement personalized lesson plans for students based on their individual needs and learning styles - Identify areas of difficulty or misconceptions and provide targeted instruction and practice to improve understanding and performance - Use a variety of instructional techniques and resources to engage and motivate students - Track progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians and Tutor Doctor staff - Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, students, and Tutor Doctor staff to ensure a positive and productive learning experience - Adhere to Tutor Doctor's policies and procedures, including maintaining confidential student information Requirements: - 2 yrs. of college education toward a bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or related field preferred - Prior tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with elementary levelstudents - Strong knowledge OR willingness to research 6th grade math and language arts curriculums - Ability to work with students with different abilities, learning styles, and needs - Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills - Ability to pass a background check EEOC Statement: Tutor Doctor is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
