Saint Francis Farm is an animal sanctuary for dogs and cats through our 501(c)(3) Last Chance Animal Rescue. LCAR was established in NY 15 years ago, and St. Francis Farm Sanctuary was established to honor our promise to all animals we rescue for a full life. Animals who are not considered adoptable, will call St Francis Farm home while their medical, behavior, or other issues are resolved. Sometimes that means the animals become permanent residents of the farm. It is these animals who we promise a full life to vs. euthanasia that need a devoted, caring person to help take care of their needs.

Who Are We Seeking?

Candidates who pay attention to details, follow care instructions to the letter for the best interest of the animal, and be comfortable working around animals who require specialized treatment based on their needs and/or behavior.

We are seeking a full-time animal caregiver who is comfortable and confident with dogs of all sizes, and animals with a variety of personalities. The schedule consists of a variety of shifts each week - day shift, a short evening shift, and an overnight shift that will add up to 40 hours per week, and can include weekend days.

Duties

  • Situating animals in appropriate exercise areas each morning
  • Cleaning food and water dishes multiple times a day
  • Feeding/watering as schedule requires per animal
  • Keeping dog areas/kennels cleaned multiple times a day
  • Ensuring cat areas are cleaned multiple times a day
  • Assist with medical needs
  • Other duties as trained and assigned.

Candidates must be able to lift 50# multiple times on a daily basis, and expect to be on their feet 90% of each shift. Dependability is mandatory as these animals depend on staff to be on time. This sanctuary operates 24/7, 365 days a year and staff will be scheduled accordingly.

This is NOT a position for someone just looking for a job. This IS a position for someone who shares our passion for saving and caring for dogs and cats.

We are actively interviewing exceptional caregivers to join our team. You must have your own transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work around the clock shifts as scheduled. Background and reference checks required. Please include a contact phone number when applying.Apply Today!
