Carlisle Interconnect Technologies Manager, Facilities in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all of the Carlisle campus buildings. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general housekeeping, general building maintenance, grounds maintenance including landscaping, mowing, snow removal, security, and fire protection systems.

  • Leads several direct report technicians, service contractors, and specific vendors/suppliers in executing the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Via the connection to Central Engineering, occasional assignments outside of the Carlisle campus that fall within the same or similar requirements for experience and knowledge may be assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and contracting appropriate vendors and contractors for services, where appropriate, to be performed for:
  • Landscaping and Mowing
  • Snow removal and surface treatments (ice melt, anti-skid materials, etc.)
  • HVAC repair and maintenance including filter replacement
  • General housekeeping and janitorial services
  • Facilities maintenance and code compliance for general maintenance of building systems and grounds including plumbing, roofing, paving, etc.
  • Fire protection systems including pumps, valves, sprinklers, alarms, testing, etc. *
  • Security systems including cameras, scanners, doors, keys, etc.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements for systems including water, sewer, storm water, etc.
  • Contractor safety and training for tasks and/or projects that are assigned.
  • Possessing a working knowledge of the campus power distribution systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Documentation of space utilization for administration, manufacturing, service groups, etc.
  • Facilitating office re-arrangements and space allocation on the campus.
  • Preparation of an annual major maintenance budget associated with operation and upkeep of campus facilities and infrastructure.
  • Auditing and evaluation of the effectiveness of contractor services including cost comparisons
  • Managing requisitions for goods and services and verifying the accuracy of invoices against purchase orders and contracts/proposals.

Coordination within cross-functional teams of the company during capital projects to support the overall initiative.

  • Internal maintenance and inspections of the fire protection systems will be a joint responsibility with plant maintenance personnel.

Essential Full Performance Knowledge:

  • Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite
  • SAP knowledge and usage (including accounting of all work related expenditures)
  • Regulatory specifications for EPA, OSHA, NPDES, etc.
  • Building codes as well as local and county requirements
  • Building systems including HVAC, electrical, communications (IT), plumbing and piping
  • Fire Systems including FM Global and NFPA requirements
  • Autodesk AutoCAD skills preferred
  • Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam Revu skills preferred

Education & Experience Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Mechanical or Electrical is preferred

  • Equivalency: Associates Degree in a technical field with a minimum of 10 years work experience in a technical or skilled trade such as HVAC, building construction, electrician, etc.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years working in an indust ial or technical field.
