Mukuru Treasurer in Cape Town, South Africa
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Treasurer to join our Finance Department in Cape Town.
The Treasurer reports directly to the Treasury Manager. This position is responsible for constantly monitoring, maintaining and reporting on Wallets, Card, Enterprise Payment Platform, Mpay, Credit and Insurance products as required.
Internal Liaison takes place with accounts, treasury team, recons and business stakeholders. External liaison takes place with banks, auditors, card issuer processor and third-party pay-out and pay-in partners.
Duties And Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to):
Reconciliation of various wallets to bank and processing settlements both on bank and Mukuru Systems on a daily basis whilst resolving variances as they come up in a timely manner
Perform daily reconciliation of card transactions and settle Pay-out/in partners, Insurance, VAS and top-up the Card Profile Trust account
Confirm receipt of EPP funds, top up the funds onto the relevant wallet
Administration and reporting on the performance of credit products
Send out payment instructions to the Payments Team and process other payments yourself
Maintain a clear and precise repository of all reconciliations on Sharepoint
Understanding the nature and extent of financial and operational risks
Bank relationship management with various banks and pay-out partners
Supporting the treasury manager with implementing and monitoring financial risk management strategies
Develop understanding of related processes and inter-dependability between teams, have broad understanding of underlying data structures
Assist Treasury Manager and other with report generation on ad-hoc basis
Assist in developing and implementing preventive and detective policies, procedures, controls, and user guides
Effective team player ensuring the team goals are achieved through collaboration
Attend new product launch meetings, minutes of meetings on all treasury related requirements prepared and submitted to the treasury manager.
Process oriented and mind set structure to flows, processes and procedures.
Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with finance team, internal and external stakeholders
Key Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
B.Com Accounting qualification (Essential)
Saica Articles (Desirable)
3 years' Treasury Experience (Essential)
Working in a multinational group (Desirable)
Knowledge of accounting principles
Knowledge of Mukuru products and Mukuru system (Advantageous)
