POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Medical Physics, the Radiation Therapy Medical Physicist performs medical physics activities in support of departmental objectives. The Medical Physicist assists in the execution of radiation safety programs and quality assurance programs.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Master's degree required in Physics, Medical Physics, or equivalent as determined by the Director of Radiation Oncology/Medical Physics.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Board Eligible or Board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Other certifying agencies will be accepted at the discretion of the Director.
EXPERIENCE: If board eligible, minimum of three years' experience under the direction of a qualified expert required, in addition to passing Part 1 of the ABR certification. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
