SUMMARY: As a Manufacturing Technology Specialist, you will work closely with our Business Planning Teams to develop programming for technology-dependent manufacturing equipment such as Laser Cutting, Plasma Cutting, and Waterjet cutting. You will work closely with the Business Operations Team and Technology Integration Specialist to provide assistance with programming troubleshooting and changes during operation when needed. As a part of a general technology team, you will cross-train with your team to achieve seamless support for the Business Operations Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read production schedules & plan ahead for effective time management.
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints and/or design models.
  • Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and choose processing methods and machine parameters.
  • Input the product design into the computer modeling software.
  • Develop CNC programs for production.
  • Modify existing programs for different machines.
  • Modify machine settings and CNC programming as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Training new staff on machine operation procedures.
  • Comply with all operating procedures, instructions, and safety rules.
  • Communicate effectively with and work well with others, including TIS Team Members, Production & Supervision staff.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES: High school diploma or GED w/ Basic Math Skills. Completion of a technical or associate degree or equivalent work experience. Ability to read and interpret design blueprints. Experience with 2D Drawing and 3D Solid Modeling. Experience with CNC Programming (2D and 3D cutting applications a plus). Experience with CNC Computer Modeling Software a plus (SigmaNest, ArTube, EdgeCam). Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline. Ability to work extended hours when required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter long periods of sitting and/or standing along with occasional walking of long distances.  The employee may be required to reach, grasp, push, and pull grating material of various sizes and weights up to 75 lbs.
