Company Overview: Our client is a nationwide service company with Eastern region back office located in Canton. With a dedication to delivering top-quality services, they strive to make a positive impact in their industry.

Position Overview: Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

  • Assist with the preparation of budget forecasts and financial projections.

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to provide financial support and analysis.

  • Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting or a related role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Requirements
