Baskin Robbins Financial Analyst - Baskin-Robbins in Canton, Massachusetts

The Financial Analyst will consolidate, report, and support the Baskin-Robbins Franchised Finance function within the context of total Inspire Brands. Responsibilities will include P&L management and variance analysis and development of financial plans such as monthly projections, annual budgets and long-range plan participation. The position requires cross-functional support in reporting financials and key metrics and in-depth analyses to help drive business change and results. The individual will be looked upon to support the cross functional teams and be responsible for special ad-hoc projects requiring analytical and presentation skills. As we continue to integrate into Inspire Brands systems and processes this role will be heavily involved in ongoing integration and process design work.

This role will be based in the Boston Support Center and has an 80% onsite requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, reconcile, and compile monthly financials including analyzing month-end results, variance analysis, prepare quarterly reporting decks to effectively communicate business results, trends, risk and opportunities to Management.

  • Act as the Financial Analyst (FA) lead contact between the Baskin-Robbins business segment located in Canton, MA and the Atlanta, GA based Inspire Brands Corporate FP&A team and Treasury group. Work will with all other Franchised Finance team members to proactively ensure process adherence and requirements alignment with the Atlanta teams.

  • Support the Baskin-Robbins Field Operations Team and provide regular support and analysis including Regional Scorecards, Yield Analysis, Local Sales analysis, and other Ad hoc financial support as necessary.

  • Provide in-depth analytical support that helps maintain and improve store and franchisee profitability including impact analysis of fixed and variable costs, product mix, store-level unit economics, etc.

  • Ability to help educate cross functional partners on financial ramifications on various options is critical to the success of this role.

  • Independently research and act upon information, while identifying areas for efficiency and implementing financial planning best practices

  • Perform daily ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned. This will be a large part of the role and an ability to adapt quickly, innovate, and effectively communicate are core success requirements for this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting required

  • 1-3 years of corporate finance experience, focusing on the Income Statement (Actual / Budget / Forecast) as well as project-based management skills

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet relationship and management

  • Ability to effectively multi-task projects with competing priorities and work under tight deadlines

  • Power Point and strong Excel financial modeling skills are a must…to parallel strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • The ability to effectively mine data and draw relevant results on business performance

  • Self-starter with strong business acumen and ability to anticipate issues and think through creative solutions

  • Proficient understanding and application of cash flow analysis tools and methodologies (NPV/ ROI / Breakeven, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase / SmartView preferred but not required.
