Maxim Crane Works LLC Yard Support in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Purpose While always maintaining a neat and clean yard and warehouse, the Yard Support will work with the team in parts and components, yard organization, inventory handling and control, yard vehicle maintenance and the promotion of a safe working environment. Duties and Responsibilities * Signal equipment operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions * Data processing and filing; includes updating and maintaining equipment logs, and manual filing at yard * Observes and measures height and width of all equipment for items being loaded or unloaded * Performs daily inspections and routine equipment preparations such as cleaning, checking and filing fluid levels, and performing minor adjustments * Disburse all machine transactions to appropriate personnel on a daily basis * Responsible for inventory by labeling all machines and attachments * Always follows safe working practices and act as safety observer on equipment lifts * Attach loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment * Deliver fuel, parts and/or rigging to sites * Performs other duties as assigned or required Minimum Requirements Education: * High school diploma or GED * Rigger/signalman certification highly preferred or ability to obtain Experience: * 1+ years' experience in warehouse or yard work Skills/Knowledge: * Moderate familiarity with freight and inventory management as well as receiving procedures * Moderate communication and problem-solving skills * Moderate knowledge of local shipping regulations * Basic mathematical skills * Basic knowledge of operating system functions including inventory and order entry procedures Other: * Current Driver's License and Maxim approved driving record must be maintained * Frequent local travel is required Physical Demands: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger; handle or feel; and kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear; push and/or pull; reach; bend and/or stoop. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 consecutive hours and able to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in extreme temperatures. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside elements with varying levels of extreme weather conditions. Must be alert and aware while driving on company business.
