The Role

Under the direction of The Engineering Manager, the Sr. Engineer - Furnace Product Mgr. will be a working supervisor within the Mechanical Engineering Group in the Canonsburg, Facility. Mechanical Engineers perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, combustion systems, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversees installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment. This position will provide technical design guidance to the Mechanical Engineers, coordinate resource requirements and scheduling needs within the Furnace Group. Interface with other departments to allocate resources in support of the Furnace Group.

Requirements

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items

  • Develop design from technical specification to manufacturing documentation.
  • Prepares design sketches, layouts, and schematics as part of a design team.
  • Select raw materials and components; develop specifications for product.
  • Develop cost estimates based on specs.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings
  • Travel of up to 20% may be required.
  • Review work and guide Mechanical Engineers in the furnace group

Technology

  • Solid knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Solid Modeling (Solid Edge preferred)
  • Microsoft Office software

Knowledge

  • Understanding of OEM and furnace Products

Education and Experience

  • A B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.M.E. preferred) or equivalent engineering education.
  • 10+ Years experience in Metal Manufacturing
