Nicholson Construction Company PROJECT MANAGER in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Nicholson Construction Company seeks a Project Manager to work at the Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, office and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.  The Manager will be required to perform the following duties: (1) ensuring all Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations are met and enforced, including bottom line responsibility for safety; (2) assisting with business development, risk assessment, bid preparation, selling and closing new work; (3) coordinating with other managers for support and overall management strategy on assigned projects; (4) assisting with contract negotiation and overseeing subcontractor procurement; (5) analyzing, developing, submitting and negotiating construction project claims for additional costs and/or time based on changed site conditions, delays by the owner to our operations and additional work scope; (6) managing accounts receivable collections; (7) coordinating, reviewing and submitting project change orders, additional work orders, and back charge documentation; (8) creating and reviewing project budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cash flows; (9) pre-job planning and scheduling; and (10) preparation of project designs and submittals.

Position requires relocation to work at various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S., as well as domestic travel up to 20% of the time.

Position requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management plus six years of experience in an engineering position for geotechnical construction projects with contract values exceeding $5 million dollars.

Experience required with the following: (1)  four years of experience working with construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, designs, and engineering for geotechnical construction projects; (2) working with cranes (including load chart, platform stability, swing radius) and other type of drill rigs (Commachio, Casagrande, and Atlas Copco); (3) working with Hydrofraise, clamshell and chisel; (4) following construction techniques: grouting works, micropiles, CFA piles, anchors/tiebacks, soil nail walls, jet grouting, shotcreting, CB walls, diaphragm and cut-off walls; (5) developing load schedule and setting up proof and performance load tests on anchors and compression/tension load test on piles/micropiles; (6) data management and QA/QC processes implementation; (7) grout and concrete on site testing procedures; (8) primavera and MS project in developing and managing project schedules; (9) estimating and job costing procedures; (10) construction management and bidding (Viewpoint, Heavy Job, Heavy Bid) software; (11) AutoCAD and geotechnical analysis/design software (Wallap, Plaxis, Allpile, and Geo5); (12) computer coding (excel macros and Python); and (13) managing in-house and subcontracted engineering services.
