Position Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Content Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Canonsburg, PA. This leading member of the marketing team is an expert at creating interesting, high-quality content that attracts new business and supports the needs of existing customers and partners. The Marketing Content Manager is able to quickly digest information and identify the key points to be leveraged to successfully drive demand generation and other efforts.

The Marketing Content Manager will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling content and managing the content strategy for the brands of Legrand’s Data Center Division. The role provides day-to-day guidance and support to the content team, exercising authority and accountability to creatively problem-solve issues and continually monitor and assess the performance of content placed in the market. The ideal person for this role is excited and knowledgeable about the ever-changing tech industry.

This position reports to the Director of Marketing.

What Will You Do?

  • Responsible for developing a content strategy and PR strategy for the division including planning, creation, and distribution of content.

  • Develops technical and engaging content for various platforms, including website, whitepapers, e-mail, social media, technical blog posts, and datasheets.

  • Supports frequent product launches with the creation of innovative campaigns – includes brainstorming, user experience, messaging strategies for new products, campaign themes, and the development of all written content.

  • Responsible for the development of web content with a focus on SEO and conversions.

  • Works with Product and Marketing Managers to determine SEO keywords for content optimization.

  • Analyzes and anticipates the interests of a targeted audience.

  • Establish KPIs and goals, oversee content testing, track, analyze, and report on results, and continuously optimize to ensure content strategy meets objectives.

  • Creates and tailors copy for the different stages of the buying cycle to optimize conversions.

  • Serve as the bridge between technical teams and the marketing department, conveying complex technical information in a manner that resonates with our target audience.

  • Manages an outside public relations agency on the development of press releases, media briefings, and external public relations activities. Develop and cultivate strong relationships with trade media.

  • Collaborates with the product teams to develop topics and content for speaking opportunities across industry events and media.

  • Stays up to date with industry trends and news to become an authority on the subjects for which you are creating content.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or any technical field.

    Experience:

  • 8 plus years of experience in Marketing Communications, messaging strategies, website optimization, conversions, and customer retention.

  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate staff to innovate and accomplish overall objectives.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills (particularly technical writing expertise).

  • Experience in data center or telecommunications marketing is a plus.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated content strategies, messaging portfolios, and technical writing.

  • Work experience demonstrated across a robust portfolio of strong story-telling.

  • Experience in writing for marketing conversions and SEO.

  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technically intricate environment.

  • Proficiency in Marketing Automation.

  • Requires expertise in marketing practices, and must have awareness of current trends in advertising, user journey, and conversions.

  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Must have a portfolio of writing samples and be able to present at the interview.
