L3Harris Engineering Technician, Level 3 Braze Lab 1 in Canoga Park, California

We have an immediate need for an Engineering Technician Level 3 for our Braze Lab at our Space headquarters in Canoga Park, CA.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide hands on component fabrication and assembly support to produce prototype and/or customer deliverable brazed component hardware for research and test applications. Work with responsible engineers to derive or update prototype braze processes into engineering designs and process documentation as well as to incorporate manufacturing aspects. Perform material heat treat cycles per engineering and customer requirements. Produce documentation of work products for delivery to customers. Perform diagnostics on brazing and heat treating furnaces and communicate the information to management for repairs. Provide support for problem resolution and conduct repairs of furnace equipment.

  • Correlate information from past experiences and apply to current activities. Use an increasing amount of instrumentation and equipment with sufficient proficiency. Further differentiates based on training and experience in the specialized skills in appropriate areas. Show a willingness to be mentored by more experienced technicians.

  • Provide hands-on assembly and fabrication support for crucial aerospace hardware. Conducts procedures for programming thermal processing procedure for braze and heat treat cycles.

  • Applies results for quality control purposes, process or product failure analysis or other forensic purposes, or for the understanding of results from engineering development activities.

    Requirements:

    Requires an Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 7 years of related physical science and chemical, electronic and/or mechanical experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Lab equipment necessary to perform the essential functions of the job• Applicable Engineering standards; military, commercial, and company• Applicable skills to perform the functions of the position within the assigned area• Data collection skills and analysis with particular attention to detail• Communication, verbal and written skills• Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)• Laboratory hygiene and other safety protocols

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $58,500 - $108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
