Responsibilities

You will be responsible for gathering insights from stakeholders, anticipating industry trends, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define and align technical solutions to customer business objectives. You will also be responsible for architecture design and deployment, acting as a trusted advisor, and providing thought leadership within the organisation. This role is focused on the Defence and Intelligence Portfolio and requires a strong history and experience working in Defence or Defence industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather insights and alignment from various stakeholders to align on solution design using the Microsoft Azure, M365 and Dynamics cloud solutions.

  • Anticipate industry trends to influence long-term technology strategy based on a history of delivery in Defence solutions.

  • Recognised as a Defence industry expert, with a history of delivery and leadership in Defence or Defence related areas.

  • Utilise structured methodologies like Waterfall, Agile and Iterative, leveraging reference architecture and design patterns.

  • Define and communicate architecture to articulate the solution’s business value to a senior-level audience.

  • Develop deep relationships with senior-level decision makers to build influence and trust.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing direction on Microsoft’s capabilities in cloud and leadership to teams including Microsoft and customer

  • Architects on overall direction, strategic decision making, technical capabilities, and roadmap planning for future capabilities.

  • Effective cross-boundary collaboration to ensure alignment on objectives and priorities with stakeholders in customers and inside Microsoft.

  • Initiate and drive architect community events, providing mentoring and leadership to other team members.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years' experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

  • OR master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years' experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years managing multiple, complex projects or portfolios.

  • 2+ years' experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.

  • Prior experience working in the Defence Industry is a must.

This position requires verification of Australian Citizenship due to citizenship based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports federal, state and /or local Australian government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years' experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

  • OR master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years' experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years technical sales experience.

  • 8+ years project management experience.

  • 5+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

  • Technical or Professional Certification in Domain (e.g., Security).
