Amentum Intern - Public Affairs Specialist (Summer 2024) in Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii

Amentum is currently seeking a university junior or senior to apply to our Summer Public Affairs Internship . This internship will directly support one of our Government customers aboard USINDOPACOM, in which you will have the chance to learn from seasoned managers supporting Department of Defense work. The duration of the internship will be six to eight weeks long.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Public Affairs and Communication directorate to include media operations, future plans and exercises, and speech writing.

  • Produce material for internal and external consumption that includes assessment of current media environment, strategic-level communication plans, crisis communication plans, news releases, and social media input.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled (Junior or Senior Year) and in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Hawaii

  • Minimum 3.0/4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (no rounding) at current institution.

  • Experience in making oral presentations or conducting meetings designed to obtain input on program issues or develop a consensus or command position from among diverse viewpoints.

  • Experience in oral and written communications and visual information methods and techniques required to perform or direct the preparation of major community outreach presentations

  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET U.S. government clearance. Note: U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Public Speaking

  • Experience with Department of Defense activities

  • Current or prior military experience

The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
