Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Responsibilities NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Recreation Attendant (Foster Bowling) JOB SERIES: 0189 PAY LEVEL: NF-01 INTRODUCTION: This position is located in the Bowling Program Section, Business Operations Branch, Marine Corps Community Services Division, MCB Camp S. D. Butler, Okinawa, Japan. The Bowling Program Section is responsible for a well-rounded physical fitness and leisure time program for all authorized patrons. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assigns patrons to lanes, issue bowling rental shoes, and collects rental fees. Responsible for a change fund and the accountability of monies from sales. Prepares accurate daily activity records, and other associated paperwork. Assist customers with “Disputed and Redemption” slot machine payouts, operates cash register for bowling fees and retail sales. Operates the Qubica Automatic Bowling System for lane assignments, selection of bowling type and recording of bowling fees. Answers telephone and makes bowling reservations. Performs general cleaning of associated bowling equipment such as scoring table, seating, ball racks, floors, and restrooms. Empties trash containers and removes trash from facility. Assists mechanic with clearing routine machinery malfunctions such as pin jams and ball returns. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Ensures that all tenets of EEO and Safety Regulations are followed. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 20 years of age AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; OR Have completed a formal vocational training program; OR Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with preference for employment rather than continuing education (Valid documentation will be required upon hire) Must be able to perform prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and moderate lifting. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays and night time Must be able to complete Cash Handling Training Course before handling fund. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Have a strong command of English language to include written and oral skills. Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions, use a calculator, operate a cash register, handle money and make change accurately.
