BREVARD ACHIEVEMENT CENTER Custodian Supervisor- Fort Liberty in Cameron, North Carolina

MISSION:

The mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.

SUMMARY:

Perform custodial supervisory duties at in an efficient and effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the custodial activities in their assigned areas to ensure the accomplishment of daily activities.
  • Understand contract requirements as it relates to their position.
  • Ensure quality assurance standards are met via visual inspections. Identify performance problems and provide ongoing training.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and counseling of employees to assist them in achieving their personal success.
  • Participate in the employees progressive disciplinary action when needed.
  • Work with employees and provide accommodations as needed to improve performance.
  • Develop schedules and assign employees to work areas.
  • Answer calls and other specified tasks as required.
  • Monitor and respond to urgent calls outside of regular working hours. (e.g. weekends, holidays, and additional support as required)
  • Accurately prepare payroll in a timely manner.
  • Complete appraisals and performance evaluations for assigned employees
  • Perform custodial, maintenance, and any other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of custodial experience.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable background investigation for access to the worksite.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, you must have received the COVID-19 vaccine in full by the date of hire to be considered for employment (unless otherwise exempted from this policy by an approved medical or religious exemption).
  • Must hold a valid drivers license with a clean driving record and have reliable transportation.
  • Will be required to drive company or personal vehicle during work hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Three years of floor care experience

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Must be able to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforce
  • Work at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical ability
  • Good communication skills (e.g., able to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints; able to effectively present information in oral or written formats).
  • Able to follow basic instructions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate and draw valid conclusions.
  • Attentive to detail for quality performance.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and applicable department/organization-specific software and applications.

SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Most tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, cold, rain, fumes). Occasionally, tasks are performed outdoors.
  • Will need to use any personal protective (safety) equipment as designated.
  • Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards).
  • Required inoculations and training provided by the company.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 40 pounds. These requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodations.
