Subaru of America Sr. Software Engineer (Retailer Portals) in Camden, New Jersey

SUMMARY

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Subarunet team, you will be part of a team that works on a dynamic and multi-faceted portal between Subaru and our retailers. Subarunet is a collection of responsive web applications designed to work on desktop and mobile devices. This role will require strong front-end development skills and participation in back-end development. In this role you will be collaborating with business analysts, lead software engineers and our business partners to define and develop the best solutions for Subaru

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate requirements into working solutions.

  • Design and develop front-end and back-end code in accordance with coding standards, conventions, and practices.

  • Coordination across IT, business and testing to provide quality deliveries.

  • Provide high-level estimates as well as detailed task estimates.

  • Execute code reviews and provide mentorship to other team members.

  • Will work through the complete lifecycle of a project from conception to deployment.

  • Troubleshooting and debugging systems.

  • Coordinate testing and manage project deployments.

  • Ability to apply system knowledge and identify opportunities to enhance current capabilities.

  • Maintain current knowledge of IT development methodology, architecture design, and technical standards.

  • Available for occasional afterhours support

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and other front-end fundamentals

  • Extensive experience developing JavaScript UI applications using modern frameworks such as VueJS (preferred), ReactJS or Angular

  • Experience integrating JavaScript clients with back-end REST services.

  • Familiar with front-end state management concepts.

  • Working knowledge of web accessibility guidelines.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies.

  • Familiar with using responsive UI design.

  • Experience with JavaScript unit testing.

  • Experience with Java/Spring Boot.

  • Experience with SQL.

  • Working Knowledge of ADA compliance testing tools

  • Understands Agile techniques and principles.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Self-directed, disciplined, and self-aware to balance project development activities.

  • Commitment to excellence in quality, problem-solving and communication.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days) [Wednesdays & Fridays]

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or a related field with 6+ years of overall development and enterprise software experience

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $82900 - $115000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
