CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM MANAGER POSITION

Company Overview

Position Description:

This position will be based out of the Camden, NJ campus.  Prospective employees will be interviewing for a full-time Construction Program Manager position for Holtec’s Civil Design and Construction Division (CDCD).  CDCD is responsible for the Civil Engineering, Design, and Construction Planning for all of Holtec’s active and planned dry cask storage projects.  The Program Manager’s responsibilities include the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Construction Program Manager reports to the Director of Civil Design and Construction.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the construction workflow process

     

  • Actively engage with the Holtec Construction Team, the client and all contractors

     

    • Site visits and support for critical activities expected

       

  • Assist in resource management (internal and external personnel distributions)

     

    • Find, hire, assign, manage site supervision teams for construction projects

       

  • Assist Holtec Corporate Project Manager with task completion and purchase order management

     

  • Clarify scope of work, and prepare cost estimates and proposals based on project drawings and documents

     

  • Evaluate project for constructability and value-engineer cost savings

     

  • Work with project team to establish, monitor, and maintain project schedules.

     

  • Develop construction RFP packages and run RFP process with selected contractors

     

  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders to assure that all project goals are being addressed

     

    • Assist in tracking and processing change orders for scope changes.

       

  • Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions

     

  • Coordinate with quality assurance department to ensure that required quality inspections and documentation is provided for project requirements

     

     

     

    Qualifications/Requirements :

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred

     

  • 7+ years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor engaged in general building construction

     

  • Demonstrated experience estimating and managing self-performed work activities and subcontracted work

     

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to manage the construction projects with highest level of safety, on schedule and on budget

     

  • High level of proficiency with spreadsheets, email, scheduling software, and other software used in the construction industry

     

  • Experience in civil construction at power plant sites including nuclear plants is preferred.
