Lockheed Martin Quality Engineer Asc/CMM Programmer - Camden, AR in Camden, Arkansas

Description: The successful candidate will serve as a Senior Quality Engineer (QE) within the precision measurement team supporting our machining center and tooling lab.

As a developing subject matter expert (SME), the individual will become proficient in programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and serve as a technical authority within the team.

Specific duties include:

• Determine appropriate measurement techniques for inspecting a variety of machined parts and for validating tooling used to produce or accept hardware throughout the plant.

• Read and interpret Engineering Drawings, Government and Industry Specifications, Contract Documents, Corporate Policy/Procedures, etc., and translate the information into pertinent quality requirements.

• Create and maintain work instructions to ensure accurate definition of inspection criteria as needed to satisfy requirements.

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies, etc.

• Investigate product defects, process failures,

and material issues; perform Root Cause

Analysis (RCA); develop and implement effective

Corrective Action (CA) and Preventive Action

(PA) plans.

Additional responsibilities/expectations include

the ability to:

• Assess operational capability, and track performance; apply a variety of Quality Engineering tools (methods and techniques) to ensure product/process integrity, anticipate and prevent problems, reduce variation, drive

continuous improvement.

• Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of quality inspections and supporting assembly processes.

• Work on complex technical problems and provide solutions that may range from simple and elegant to innovative and ingenious.

• Collaborate with other disciplines to include: manufacturing engineers, CMM operators, tool technicians, manufacturing support personnel, customer representatives, etc.

• Keep up-to-date on related industry best practices; develop information which extends knowledge in the field; develop new concepts or applications.

• Help administer CMM maintenance contracts, repairs and upgrades; coordinate control of equipment calibration/certification.

• Support implementation and execution of Quality Management System.

• Provide guidance to Quality Inspector(s) in execution of daily duties.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline from an accredited college (engineering field or STEM discipline) and/or equivalent experience/combined education

Ability to acquire and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance

Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Microsoft Office - Excel, Powerpoint

Ethical integrity and business professionalism

Desired Skills:

*BS or MS degree in an engineering field (Mechanical, Aerospace preferred)

*GD&T (ASME Y14.5) training/experience/knowledge

*CMM programming experience (Zeiss Calypso preferred)

*Precision measurement - open setup

*Demonstrated initiative and accountability

*Well organized with the ability to track multiple activities and prioritize tasks based on importance

*Proficient in collection, analysis, and use of data to make informed decisions

*Lean/Six Sigma techniques

*First Article Inspections (FAI), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCA/CA)

*Quality Management System exposure (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.)

*CNC knowledge

*Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

*preferred experience in SAP

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
