Position Overview This is a skilled position involving safely and efficiently diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing plant equipment. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • General plant maintenance including repairs to plant equipment.
  • Job requires physical ability to frequently climb, bend, reach, lift 75 to 100 lbs. occasionally, and climb stairs regularly.
  • Perform general equipment repairs. Hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic repairs must be made using various methods including but not limited to cutting and/or welding.
  • Various hand tools must be used safely to repair, grease, weld, cut, and change parts to complete tasks as assigned.
  • Fabricate metal parts and install as needed to fit the needs of the plant and equipment.
  • Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery, troubleshoot and determine repairs and discuss with General Manager for approval and repair as needed.
  • Observe mechanical devices and equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble.
  • Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Ensure that measures are followed in respect to use of plant equipment to keep in compliance with federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, DEP, etc.
  • Must complete required daily reporting including lockout tag out paperwork and daily TRACK forms.
  • Attend various training initiatives as necessary to ensure safe operation of all equipment as needed.
  • Company will provide industry specific tools, but candidate must provide basic tools.

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills preferred. High school diploma or (GED) required. Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity or related field experience preferred.
