Hyatt Assistant Event Services Manager in CAMBRIDGE, Maryland

Description:

The goal of the Assistant Event Services Manager is to effectively and proactively monitor the daily functions of the Food & Beverage Event Services Team. This also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments to ensure a successful and effective event resulting in a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively reviewing Event Services staffing and equipment needs

  • Supervising, coaching, and leading the Event Services team including Event Services Captains, Event Services Servers, and Event Services Bartenders

  • Ensuring coordination and execution of all events with the Culinary, Stewarding and Events departments while adhering to Hyatt Food & Beverage standards

  • Maintaining a high-energy, positive, and professional appearance

  • Short- and long-term banquet functions in the front and the back of the house

  • Creating an environment that establishes high standards of quality service (i.e. effective hiring, training, promotion and continuous reinforcement)

  • Administrative tasks including, but not limited to payroll, facilitating reports, forecasting, POS procedures, inventory and budget for F&B functions.

  • Setting up and taking down tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment

  • Setting up decorations and lighting for events

  • Cleaning and organizing banquet rooms, hallways, storage and service areas

  • Inventorying and caring for banquet supplies/equipment

  • Performing light duty cleaning tasks such as sweeping, wiping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.

  • Performing removal duties as assigned

  • Moves furniture upon request.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Minimum of 1-year Banquet Supervisory experience

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

  • Refined verbal communication skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Proficient in basic computer skills
