    Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Center for Real Estate (CRE), to join a highly collaborative team of faculty and researchers focusing on all aspects of real estate and urban economics, including housing, urban growth, finance, development, investment, housing affordability, sustainability, and new technologies. Will perform independent research in areas that include urban economics, housing, real estate finance, and the interaction between markets and housing affordability; publish, present, and disseminate research to the global community; collaborate with CRE professors in their research; work with private, industry, and/or government research sponsors to apply for research grants; and help identify projects and write case studies in urban economic and real estate finance, with an emphasis on affordable housing policies worldwide. Will devote about 63% of the time to CRE-related duties and the rest to your own research. The position offers an opportunity to acquire market-relevant research and teaching skills in urban economics and real estate, to be part of the vibrant research community at MIT, and to attend research seminars. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in economics, finance, statistics, data science, transportation, operations, management, engineering, or related field; solid data analytics, statistics, and econometrics skills; excellent research, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills; self-motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving and time mangement; ability to incubate and envision new, innovative research projects and successfully manage their implementation; proficiency with as many as possible of the following--Stata, R, MATLAB, Python, and/or Mathematica; experience with or willingness to learn geodatabases (ArcGIS10 or QGIS); and ability to work independently and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team.
