    Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, MIT D-Lab Local Innovation Group, to join a sponsored research project that is developing and testing evaluation instruments for assessing changes in the capacity for local innovation in communities facing development challenges. Will work directly with the study’s principal investigator, Elizabeth Hoffecker, to design and manage the field testing of research instruments for assessing hard-to-measure concepts related to local innovation capacity at the individual, group, and local system levels, to be implemented by local research partners in three to four countries. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Ph.D. or equivalent international degree in evaluation methods, social research methods, or related field with a focus on international development; experience designing and field-testing mixed methods research instruments with low-literacy populations, ideally in rural settings; strong project management skills and excellent follow-through; clear and effective written and verbal English communication skills; and a proactive and creative approach to methodological challenges in evaluation research and to gathering accurate data in ways that are culturally relevant and respectful.
