At RTX BBN Technologies, we invent new science by applying cross-discipline techniques to tangible prototype systems to prove concept viability. Our Networking and Cyber Technologies group anticipates the future in very large and very small-scale information exchange across wired, wireless, and undersea environments. We seek well-qualified and eager System/Software Engineers to become an integral part of this work. You will contribute to diverse and critical areas such as network infrastructure security, network understanding, energy conservation, content networking, mobility, efficient channel access, and networking within extremely harsh or hostile environments. You will employ strategies for both free-form thinking and disciplined application and work with extraordinarily talented individuals.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree plus 2 years experience, or MS degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field

  • Understanding of object-oriented programing and principles

  • Experience in disciplined C++, Java, or Python code development

  • Experience developing code in Linux environments

  • A willingness and ability to apply for and be granted a US Government Security clearance. US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work and communicate as part of a team

  • The desire to continually learn and improve yourself

  • Experience with socket programming, including non-blocking designs

  • Experience working on hardened code

  • Experience working on code deployed in space

  • Experience working in an agile team

  • Experience with Coverity

  • Experience in Networking Fundamentals is a plus

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
