The Lead Application Analyst, in consultation with the Senior Director, Administrative Technologies, sets the strategy for critical administrative technology services and provides Tier 2 support to related applications. The Lead Application Analyst is a service owner for key business service(s) and is accountable for the delivery, continuous improvement, and change management of their service(s). They collaborate with a matrixed team that supports and administers technology solutions from across the HBS IT portfolio to meet specific needs. They interface with a wide range of people across HBS and Harvard University and work with HBS IT leaders to set priorities and manage their team’s capacity.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, quick learner who possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills. They have experience effectively consulting with faculty and business partners, developing and delivering a wide variety of technology solutions in a high-touch, enterprise level environment. They have excellent listening and critical thinking skills and exhibit the ability to understand current processes and requirements and identify new tools or ways of working to achieve objectives. They possess superior maturity, professionalism, and judgment. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Service Ownership and oversight for assigned service(s), which could incorporate a combination of custom-built and third-party products

  • Provide leadership to a matrix team of contractors and full-time staff who provide day-to-day operational support services for their service(s) Provide Tier 2 support to related applications

  • Handle incidents assigned to services and coordinate with other support staff

  • Ensure regular communication with all involved partners, stakeholders, and the community about current status of projects, as well as what is on the product horizon

  • Assess, pilot, and operationalize application enhancements, as driven by the stakeholder demand

  • Collaborate closely with HBS IT and HUIT support teams to measure effectiveness and support models through development of metrics

  • Manage the entire product life cycle of assigned services and applications from product requirements to feature/function adoption, including oversight of relevant execution plans

  • Determine customer requirements (via research, personal interviews, focus groups, surveys, roundtables, etc.) and translate them, through the HBS development process, into user stories, technical product requirements, and representation in projects

  • Oversee the fiscal year budget and plan and prioritize new and enhanced offerings for assigned services and applications

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Annual Salary Range:$95,000 - $100,000, salary commensurate with experience
