MIT Recreation, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for a Front Desk Attendant to join the recreation team on campus in Cambridge, MA. In this position, you will be responsible for greeting patrons and provide the highest possible level of customer service to ensure patron satisfaction. This is a frontline desk position and the initial point of contact for all members and guests in the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center (Z Center).

What you'll be doing

  • Performs all front desk administration processes in the ZCenter, e.g.access control, membership enrollments, POS transactions, court reservations, towel service, equipment rental, and general customer service

  • Troubleshoots monthly membership billing issues and updates payment information using membership management software as requested

  • Responds to all front desk phone inquiries and answers questions regarding pool lane availability, open recreation,ice rink schedule, hours of operation, etc.

  • Ensures that front desk organization and lobby cleanliness is maintained, coordinates cleaning with custodian staffwhile on dutywhennecessary

  • Communicates with the Manager on Duty regardingfacility incidents, injuries, and customer servicematters

  • Other duties as needed/assigned

What you'll need to have

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Previous customer service experience a plus

  • Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 60 days of hire.

  • Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
