    Job Description

FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR 3, Office of the Vice President for Research-Research Administration Services, to join the post-award/research finance team in central research administration. Will advise RAS teams and departments, labs, centers, and institutes (DLCI) on financial issues related to MIT and sponsor policies; develop and maintain best practices for consortium structure and management; coordinate with RAS team members and DLCIs on complex budget issues and post-award and solutions such as allowability, under-recovery, cost-sharing, lab allocations, over-expenditures, agreement terminations, audits, and financial reporting issues; review and make recommendations for complex proposal budgeting; field and respond to questions from DLCIs regarding current awards and closeouts; provide data on funding sources and trends; communicate issues related to project status; create forecasting models, scenarios, and decision aides; and perform other duties as assigned. The work involves collaboration with the RAS data team on award set-up issues; cost analysis on F&A adjustments; Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) sponsored accounting on invoicing, reporting, and closeout issues; and RAS teams and DLCIs on award-specific financial matters.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least five years of related experience in sponsored research administration; familiarity with sponsor policies, terms, and conditions; strong financial acumen; and excellent communication skills. Job #24048-8 5/16/24
