    Job Description

FINANCE AND GRANTS MANAGER, MIT Center for Real Estate (MIT/CRE), to administer the financial activities of the center, including account structuring and invoicing procedures that meet MIT’s requirements for sponsored research and non-sponsored and educational activities (FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, GAAP, OMB circulars, gifts stewardship, etc.). Will participate in the development of short- and long-term financial strategies with center leadership; collaborate on preparing the operational annual budgets and forecasts based on information supplied through multiple sources; and administer and oversee pre- and post-award sponsored program activities, interacting with principal investigators (PIs) to develop and submit proposal budgets, monitoring the financial performance of active grants/contracts, and providing forecasts and updates to PIs to ensure the proper distribution of resources and use of funds. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ financial and grants management experience; demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and OMB Uniform Guidance; strong organizational and proactive communication skills; discretion and sound judgment with confidential information; attention to detail; advanced-level Excel and relational database skills; ability to learn and use new financial systems, processes, and related technologies; and proven ability to provide appropriate solutions and courses of action based on precedent and Institute policy. PREFERRED: demonstrated knowledge of MIT financial systems and operations and experience as a fiscal officer; and experience with SAPgui, Service Now, Cognos, Concur, Kuali Coeus, and BrioQuery.
