    Job Description

BRAIN-SCORE RESEARCH SCIENTIST, MIT Quest for Intelligence (https://quest.mit.edu/) , to perform research to continue the development and expansion of Brain-Score (https://www.brain-score.org/) , a platform that evaluates computational models on their alignment to neural and behavioral brain data in the domains of vision and language. Will collaborate with the international Brain-Score community to identify and carry out enabling research contributing to our understanding of the alignment of computational models to data collected from humans and non-human primates, allowing a deeper understanding of areas of similarity and difference. Responsibilities include carrying out experiments--largely digital in nature--designed to compare and contrast AI models of vision and language with both neural and behavioral data; expanding and further developing the Brain-Score platform to enable comparisons, at scale, of models to experimental data; collaborating on specific research thrusts that result in new metrics, data, and computational models; evangelizing the platform by publishing in leading journals, presenting at conferences, and participating in workshops utilizing Brain-Score; and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in neurobiology, computer science, machine learning, or related field; two years’ related experience, including programming experience in Python; experience with software development practices, including git-based version control and CI/CD; excellent project-management, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, and written and verbal English communication skills; and ability to work with people across all levels in a highly dynamic hybrid environment. PREFERRED: experience in at least two of the following: computer vision, optimization, natural language understanding, collecting and analyzing behavioral data, collecting and analyzing neural data, and/or high-performance distributed computing; research experience developing and testing machine learning models and models of the brain and cognition; and familiarity with cloud platforms.
