Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of big data architectures and best practices (data lakes, data warehousing).

  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline optimization.

  • Proficiency in designing and managing scalable data storage and processing solutions using technologies like Spark, Hadoop, and data lakes.

  • Strong proficiency with data warehousing tools (Snowflake, SQL Server, Google BigQuery).

  • Ability to design and implement security and compliance best practices in data architecture.

  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Singularity) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of project management and CI/CD tools (Asana, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins).

  • Proficiency in implementing software engineering best practices such as code reviews, version control, documentation, and agile methodologies.

  • Familiarity with Nvidia GPUs, software stacks (CUDA, NCCL), and distributed computing technologies.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position based in MA, with a hybrid schedule (combination of in-person / remote). Harvard University supports a hybrid workplace model which will actively support some remote work. We are hiring an AI/ML Big Data Architect with a proven record of technical leadership and a robust understanding of data infrastructures to enhance our engineering team at the Kempner Institute. In this position, the AI/ML Big Data Architect will play a critical role in assisting researchers by designing and implementing robust data architectures, optimizing AI/ML data workflows on large-scale systems, implementing best practices for data integrity and scalability, building and maintaining the distributed AI/ML data infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integration of cutting-edge data storage and retrieval techniques with research initiatives.

This position operates within a team of senior engineers and reports to the Director of Engineering.
